General Medicine

The Department of General Medicine integrates the specialties of Cardiology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Neurology disciplines. In fact it provides the basics of the clinical science to all the clinicians whether it is Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmic, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology etc.
The students are taught in holistic manner by didactic lectures, bedside teaching, demonstrations with special emphasis on clinical and practical teaching and training of every student.
Apart from treating patients for various diseases, special clinics are held for Diabetes, Gastrointestinal diseases, Allergy, Asthma, Hypertension & Cardiovascular disease and Endocrinal disorder. Endoscopy is also carried out on routine basis. An average of two dialysis patients are attended every day, dialysis is carried out using the Torey machine via a Reverse Osmosis Plant.
