Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Director of Medical Education and Head of Pulmonary Medicine at Era's Lucknow Medical College & Hospital, said in his keynote speech at an event sponsored by Haystack Analytics that genome sequencing is an important step in the treatment of tuberculosis (TB) and can help save lives by ensuring that patients start therapy with the right combination of medications. Era is pleased to announce that its novel tele-intubation technique has been published in the prestigious Journal of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology. ELMCH is the only institution in India that performs telebation, or remote intubations using telemedicine. 
On World Thyroid Day, ELMC&H hosted a two-day medical program to enhance medical students' knowledge and promote awareness and understanding of thyroid illnesses, its symptoms, prevention, and treatments. 
ELMC conducted a Parkinson's Disease awareness program on Monday, April 11th, 2022. Dr Varun Malhotra, a neurologist from AIIMS New Delhi, gave a health talk about the importance of an integrated healthcare approach for Parkinson's disease patients, which encompassed mental health support. 
The faculty members of the Postgraduate Institute of Child Health (PICH), Noida, participated in a two-day interactive session hosted by ELMC. In the midst of the new covid strain 'Omicron' being found in various countries, preventive steps are being implemented. Prof Rajendra Prasad, Chairman of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at ELMCH (Former HOD, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, KGMU), stated that the state government is prepared for the new challenges, with a focus on improving health infrastructure. 
COPD accounts for 8 lakh fatalities in India every year! Long-term exposure to smoke from various sources can cause COPD and other lung disorders. Activities that pollute the air should be minimised. Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Director of Medical Education and Head of the Pulmonary Medicine Department at ELMC&H, stated in a recently published research article that nonsmokers account for 25-45 percent of COPD cases, with bad indoor and outdoor air quality being the primary cause. 
Maulana Kalbe Sadiq, a veteran islamic scholar, social reformer, and senior vice president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan award. He was honoured in the field of spiritualism, and his son Kalbe Sibtain Noori received the award at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. 
A two-day online international interdisciplinary conference on "Positive Psychological Interventions for Promoting Sustainable Happiness in Society" was organised by the ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) and the Happy Thinking Laboratory of the Department of Psychology, LU in collaboration with Era University.

The Indian Ambassador to Ireland applauded Era's innovative teaching pedagogy. Era is the only hospital that uses educational simulation-based video games as a supplement to teaching, allowing medical students to acquire both basic and complicated medical skills. 
Breakthrough achieved in phase-III trials clinical trials of antiviral drug Umifenovir. CDRI conducted clinical trials at three institutes, ELMCH being one of them, in addition to KGMU and RMLIMS. 
Given the fact that protective antibodies develop after the first jab, studies studies show antibodies also develop one month after the second vaccination. ELMCH, vaccinated 6500 employees on campus and meticulously examined samples from 246 of them just one month after receiving their first and second vaccinations. There were about 5000 patients admitted to the healthcare centre, which was also a Level 3 Covid hospital. 
According to studies, a two-dose covishield vaccination produces adequate antibodies to prevent serious infections.
