GENE ANALYSIS: A POTENTIAL MEDICAL SOLUTION: At the third International Conference on Customized Medicine ISPM CON-2023 held at Era University on Sunday, Prof. Sanjeev Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, stated, that prescribing medicine after gene analysis of patients suffering from chronic diseases like cancer, kidney, and bone issues would be the future process of treatment in India as it will be precise and effective. Prof. Abbas Mahdi, VC of Era University, stated that this helped achieve 80% recovery during Covid times, which was best in UP. 

ISPMCON-2023: Era University’s Department of Personalized and Molecular Medicine organized a three-day Conference on Personalized Medicine titled 'Redefining the Future of Medicine'. The conference outlined the need for ensuring patient-centric research. 

MEDICINE MEET AT ERA :At the third conference on Personalized Medicine, held on Saturday, specialists emphasised the need for patient-centered lab research. Distinguished speakers including Prof. S. Mishra and Prof. A.A. Mahdi, Vice Chancellors of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University and Era University, addressed the session. The speakers opined that each patient should have a unique treatment plan. 

At the Panel Discussion on "Realizing UP's Vision to Establish Special Educational Zones," Dr. MMA Faridi, Dean of the ELMC, was one of the keynote speakers. Dr. Faridi listed promoting development in the state's most financially and socially deprived areas as one of the primary requirements for the establishment of Special Educational Zones.

On October 29, 2022, the Biotechnology Department at Era University hosted a symposium on lead poisoning prevention and awareness in collaboration with the Indian Society for Lead Awareness & Research (InSLAR). The symposium was conducted as part of the "International Lead Poisoning Week" observed by the WHO (World Health Organization) with the intention of reminding governments, civil health partners, industry, and others about the unacceptable hazards of lead exposure and the need for action. Say No to Lead Poisoning was the slogan for this year's campaign. 

The 16th Annual Conference on Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases, UPTBCCON 2022, is being organized by ELMC&H and KGMU jointly. Friday marked the beginning of the three-day conference. 

World Heart Day 'A Happy Heart is a Healthy Heart' On the occasion of World Heart Day, ELMC organized a variety of events to create awareness about cardiovascular health.

Era is pleased to announce that its novel tele-intubation technique has been published in the prestigious Journal of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology. ELMCH is the only institution in India that performs telebation, or remote intubations using telemedicine.

In the midst of the new covid strain 'Omicron' being found in various countries, preventive steps are being implemented. Prof Rajendra Prasad, Chairman of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at ELMCH (Former HOD, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, KGMU), stated that the state government is prepared for the new challenges, with a focus on improving health infrastructure. 

COPD accounts for 8 lakh fatalities in India every year! Long-term exposure to smoke from various sources can cause COPD and other lung disorders. Activities that pollute the air should be minimised. Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Director of Medical Education and Head of the Pulmonary Medicine Department at ELMC&H, stated in a recently published research article that nonsmokers account for 25-45 percent of COPD cases, with bad indoor and outdoor air quality being the primary cause. 

Maulana Kalbe Sadiq, a veteran islamic scholar, social reformer, and senior vice president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan award. He was honoured in the field of spiritualism, and his son Kalbe Sibtain Noori received the award at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. 

A two-day online international interdisciplinary conference on "Positive Psychological Interventions for Promoting Sustainable Happiness in Society" was organised by the ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) and the Happy Thinking Laboratory of the Department of Psychology, LU in collaboration with Era University.

The Indian Ambassador to Ireland applauded Era's innovative teaching pedagogy. Era is the only hospital that uses educational simulation-based video games as a supplement to teaching, allowing medical students to acquire both basic and complicated medical skills. 

Breakthrough achieved in phase-III trials clinical trials of antiviral drug Umifenovir. CDRI conducted clinical trials at three institutes, ELMCH being one of them, in addition to KGMU and RMLIMS. 

Given the fact that protective antibodies develop after the first jab, studies studies show antibodies also develop one month after the second vaccination. ELMCH, vaccinated 6500 employees on campus and meticulously examined samples from 246 of them just one month after receiving their first and second vaccinations. There were about 5000 patients admitted to the healthcare centre, which was also a Level 3 Covid hospital. 

According to studies, a two-dose covishield vaccination produces adequate antibodies to prevent serious infections.
